O time de Vanderlei Luxemburgo tem problemas em série. Além de Rossi, que já vem sendo desfalque após uma suspensão seguida de apendicite, Marcos Júnior e Marrony estão suspensos. E ainda há o caso de Talles Magno, que foi convocado para a Seleção Brasileira Sub-17, mas o Vasco chegou a entrar com pedido no Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) para poder escalar o atacante, atualmente titular.

Com tantos problemas, Luxa optou por dois jogadores que foram bastante criticados pela torcida recentemente: o volante Lucas Mineiro e o meia Marquinho. Além deles, o centroavante deverá ser Tiago Reis.

O Flamengo, por sua vez, entra no Clássico dos Milhões mirando os líderes e, por isso, Jorge Jesus escalará força máxima, apesar do confronto com o Internacional, na quarta, pela Libertadores. A tendência é de que o treinador promova o retorno de Gabigol ao time titular, por exemplo, após o camisa 9 ficar de fora das últimas duas rodadas por conta de uma lesão muscular.

Uma mudança certa é a entrada de Rodinei no lado direito. O titular, Rafinha, recebeu o terceiro cartão amarelo na vitória sobre o Grêmio e cumprirá suspensão automática. Rodrigo Caio, Diego e Vitinho, lesionados, são os desfalques.

Just a day after the Old Trafford authorities were being praised for producing the best pitch of the international summer in England, boos rang out around the ground.The source of the crowd’s frustration was understandable: a sharp but relatively short shower had not just interrupted play, but caused an abandonment. What promised to be another exciting afternoon of cricket instead became an ever more farcical succession of inspections and further delays.With the benefit of hindsight, we can probably conclude now that play should have been abandoned as early as 4pm. By then, a ground that had taken some heavy rain over the previous weekend had experienced an unusually brutal downpour that left standing water all over the outfield. It started at around 2.15pm and ended, after flirting with spectators for a while, at about 3.40pm.But, with the best of intentions, the groundstaff and the umpires decided to do what they could to restart play. A few years ago, such a deluge would have ended play for the day without anyone batting an eyelid, but expectations have changed significantly. New sand-based outfields and drainage systems have vastly reduced delays after rain and there is, however it may seem, more respect for spectators than was once the case.More than that, the desperation to make a success of hosting such major games, results in grounds taking risks and short-term decisions.Excess water at the Brian Statham End meant play could not be resumed despite the groundstaff’s efforts•PA Photos

Again, with the benefit of hindsight, the groundstaff might have been well advised to simply allow the drainage the time to do its work. But, understandably, they felt a need not just to help nature on its way, but to be seen to be helping nature on its way.So out came the super-soppers – the tractor-like devices that soak up water from the outfield – and they went to work at the Brian Statham End, in particular, which is the lowest part of the ground and where the puddles were at their deepest.That was probably a mistake. For, after a weekend when Lancashire were forced to take similar action to ensure a NatWest Blast T20 quarter-final was able to take place on the ground – the match was scheduled for Friday, but eventually took place on Saturday evening – the area was already boggy and damaged. The further usage of relatively heavy machinery may have removed some excess water, but it also churned up the area to such an extent that it began to resemble a field of cabbages more than a cricket outfield.In truth, the soppers are largely cosmetic devices and are used as much as public-relations ploys as they are for practical purposes. Certainly in circumstances like this, they tend to present as many problems as they do solutions. The outfield just became worse and worse and an area stretching around five metres into the playing surface at that entire end of the ground became genuinely unplayable. While cricket remains a little indulgent of such matters – talk that such conditions are “dangerous” is not helpful – it would have been farcical to try and play international sport in such circumstances. Eventually, play was abandoned at 5.40pm.It does not mean the ground’s drainage is inadequate for the longer term. Lancashire installed a similar drainage scheme to most of the major grounds in England in 2008. Only Lord’s, with its greater income and incomparable business model, was able to afford a more effective system.But, at the end of last year, the club was obliged to pull down two new stands – the stands either side of the media centre at the Brian Statham End – and rebuild them, which appears to have created a temporary area of weakness.While the stands were being built, in 2012, one of the contractors, Sabre Structures Ltd, went into administration. That caused a delay that could have rendered the stands unfinished ahead of the 2013 season and the lucrative Ashes Test, so the club installed support columns as an intermediate measure to allow the stands to be used and enable the ground to host the international cricket that is so vital to its future.These support columns resulted in an obstructed view for some spectators, however, and were always viewed as a temporary solution. So, after the Ashes Test, the club strengthen the tiers with the installation of additional structural steel which allowed the removal of the support columns.The problem with that, though, was that it resulted in a significant amount of heavy machinery on the outfield at that end of the ground. As a result, the grass had to be re-laid at the start of this summer and it has not knitted as well as it has done in other areas of the ground. That weakness was exploited by the ferocity of the recent rain.Talk that the incident could jeopardise the ground’s future as a venue for major matches is hyperbole, though. The pitch at Old Trafford has actually put some of those at other venues to shame and, while the episode is not ideal, talk of denying them future games seems harsh in the extreme.There is a fear, however, that the boggy areas – and they really are in very poor condition – might render play difficult on day three, even if Manchester enjoys a dry night.Afterwards Mike Watkinson, the Lancashire director of cricket, apologised, but insisted the circumstances were extreme. “We apologise if people feel let down, but these are extreme circumstances,” Watkinson told the BBC. “It was an extremely heavy downpour and most grounds would have struggled.”We’ve had a massive downpour and water has congregated in the low point of the ground. It’s an area that we have used for construction purposes. It has high-performing drains. What it hasn’t got is turf that has knitted together over seasons like the rest of the field. It’s quite a new area.”If we have got anything wrong, it was to go with the water hog instead of letting it drain naturally. You can understand our groundstaff being as proactive as possible. It looks a bit of a mess. We accept that. Last Friday evening we were under water for a Twenty20 game. But there is no reason at all it won’t dry out over night.”You would hope it is not held against us [when allocating future major matches].You hope that people look at the cricket has been played so far in this game, the quality of the pitch, the way its produced some great bowling and good batting.”There has been entertaining cricket with a real momentum and better players have prospered. I hope they have not been bothered about five metres of a sandy puddle that has affected an hour’s cricket.”In a perfect world, grounds might not host international cricket until they are finished and tested and perfect. But in the real world, the club’s need to finance their redevelopment schemes and they need to host regular international cricket to do so. While that is the case – and the ECB could implement a better system with a little thought – teething problems like this are probably inevitable.It is not a scandal. There is nobody deserving of blame or shame. It does not merit the sobriquet “watergate” however tempting it might be to use it. It was just bad luck. Lancashire experienced a perfect storm: it rained very hard on an area of weak ground and, for all the goodwill in the world – perhaps partly because of all that goodwill – it wasn’t possible to restart play. It’s frustrating, but it happens.

Em sua apresentação na última quarta-feira, o meia Evandrorelembrou sua apagada passagem pelo Palmeiras entre 2008 e 2009. Agora no Santos, o atleta espera dar a volta por cima e ‘calar’ os críticos.

O jogador foi contratado para substituir Valdívia, então principal estrela da equipe e vendido ao Al Ain-EAU, em agosto de 2008. Porém, outros meias se destacaram durante a passagem de Evandro: Diego Souza e Cleiton Xavier.

O primeiro caiu nas graças do torcedor após a saída de Valdívia. Prova disso é que foi considerado o melhor jogador do Campeonato Brasileiro de 2009. Xavier, por sua vez, foi contratado no mesmo ano e foi importante com suas assistências.

Evandro havia se destacado pelo Athletico-PR e recebeu o apelido de ‘Seleça’ pelas constantes convocações para as categorias de base do Brasil. No Palmeiras, o meia realizou 45 partidas e marcou dois gols.

– Meu momento no Palmeiras teve partidas boas, outras ruins. Conquistei meu apelido, joguei com Alex Mineiro no Athletico-PR e na base tive muitas convocações no sub-17 e sub-20. São coisas que acontecem, não tive meu melhor momento no Palmeiras. Em todos os clubes que eu passei sempre fui muito profissional e dei meu máximo. Bopara was slapped a heavier fine of 25% of his match fee while Sammy and Samuels were fined 20 and 10% respectively.The incident occurred during the 12th over of England’s chase, when Bopara set off for a single. Bopara made insulting comments towards the bowler Samuels who responded. Sammy, the West Indies captain, then stepped in to have a go at Bopara before the umpires Joel Wilson and Peter Nero intervened.All three pleaded guilty to the level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct to the match referee Andy Pycroft. The three players were found to have breached Article 2.1.8 of the code, which states: “Where the facts of the alleged incident are not adequately or clearly covered by any of the (above) offence, conduct that either: (a) is contrary to the spirit of the game; or (b) brings the game into disrepute”.

Na partida de estreia do Campeonato Brasileiro, contra o Fortaleza, o Palmeiras soube se impôr do primeiro ao último minuto e, sem qualquer dificuldade, bateu o time cearense, por 4 a 0. A impressão, no entanto, era de que o Verdão poderia ter feito muito mais e sair do Allianz Parque com uma goleada. Tudo isso graças ao bom desempenho do quarteto ofensivo de ataque, com destaque especial para Zé Rafael.

Titular do Verdão, o atacante Ricardo Goulart se machucou aos sete minutos do primeiro tempo e deu lugar para Zé Rafael brilhar na partida e comandar a vitória palmeirense. Avançado e mais próximo do ataque, o meia-atacante teve uma atuação brilhante ao marcar dois gols e dar uma assistência.

O outrora criticado sistema ofensivo do Palmeiras provou que está afiado. O quarteto formado por Dudu, Deyverson, Gustavo Scarpa e Zé Rafael criou boas chances de gol durante toda a partida, se manteve regular e finalizou 16 vezes ao gol adversário – números expressivos para os padrões atuais do futebol brasileiro.

Mais do que isso, o posicionamento de Dudu – flutuando pelos dois lados do campo – dificultou muito o trabalho dos defensores adversários. O Verdão chegou ao gol do Fortaleza com jogadas criadas pela direita, pela esquerda, pelo meio e pelo alto. Isso, claro, sem contar a aproximação dos meio-campistas.

Os dois fins de semana sem jogos após a eliminação no Campeonato Paulista para o São Paulo surtiram efeito no Palmeiras. O time melhorou o rendimento e, nos últimos dois jogos, anotou oito gols. A tendência é de que o Verdão siga ofensivo, sobretudo nos jogos no Allianz Parque. O time de Palestra Itália é, mais uma vez, um forte candidato no Brasileirão.

صحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية، أكدت بأن برشلونة وباريس سان جيرمان يجتمعان اليوم، لمناقشة امكانية انتقال كيليان مبابي للنادي الكتالوني خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الجارية.

الصحيفة الفرنسية أكدت بأن برشلونة مستعد لتقديم عدد من اللاعبين للتعاقد مع مبابي، وهو ما سيتم التفاوض عليه مع باريس سان جيرمان خلال الاجتماع.

ولكن بالنظر لوضع برشلونة الحالي، فإن الصفقة تبدو صعبة، في ظل المشاكل التي يواجهها النادي بشأن اللعب المالي النظيف مع رابطة الدوري الإسباني، وتسجيل اللاعبين، وكذلك الأزمة المالية التي تجعل البلوجرانا يبحث عن اللاعبين الذين تنتهي عقودهم.

برشلونة لن يكون النادي الأول الذي يرتبط بـ كيليان مبابي، حيث أن ريال مدريد يتصدر السباق، في ظل اقترابه بشده من ضم اللاعب منذ الصيف الماضي.

بالإضافة إلى ذلك، ارتبط آرسنال أيضًا بـ كيليان مبابي، وكذلك جاره اللندني تشيلسي، لكن العرض الأكبر حسب التقارير هو المقدم من الهلال السعودي.

Totalmente recuperado de uma entorse no joelho esquerdo, o centroavante Gustagol está preparado para ser titular do Corinthians na partida desta quarta-feira, às 21h30, contra a Ferroviária, na Arena, pelas quartas de final do Paulistão. Jogo, aliás, que será realizado dois dias antes de seu aniversário de 25 anos, comemorado dia 29 de março.

-Não planejei festa alguma ainda, vou ver depois do próximo jogo. Um presente que quero é a vitória, classificação. Depois vou ver se faço um jantar.Estou me sentindo muito bem – disse o camisa 19, curado da lesão que o tirou de quatro jogos do Timão em 2019.

-Até conversei com Fabio, mas é normal, tinha entrado frio na partida, os outros quentes. Faz parte. Mas está tudo tranquilo, não vai acontecer mais.Depois que acabou a temporada no Fortaleza, não fiquei parado, minha esposa é personal e me botava para treinar. Isso foi fundamental para eu chegar bem. Até eu fiquei surpreso com o resultado. Nunca tinha passado do nível 16 (no teste de pré-temporada) e cheguei ao 20 – comentou.

De acordo com o centroavante, o relacionamento com Mayara Zerbetto foi determinante para mudar seu estilo de vida. Graças à “esposa maravilhosa”, pôde manter a sequência e intensidade de treinos nas férias e voltar bem fisicamente.

Ficou definido em reunião na Secretaria Municipal de Esportes e Lazer, na manhã desta quarta-feira, que um grupo de trabalho montado pela Prefeitura de São Paulo vai vistoriar os alojamentos dos clubes de futebol da capital ao longo dos próximos 90 dias. Vale para instalações destinadas à base ou ao profissional.

Enquanto isso, os clubes receberam a recomendação de suspender o uso dos alojamentos que “não tenham licença de funcionamento ou que não estejam em conformidade com as normas vigentes de segurança”. Alguns já se anteciparam.

O São Paulo, por exemplo, transferiu a concentração dos jogadores para o jogo contra o Talleres (ARG), nesta quarta-feira, do CT da Barra Funda para o CT da base, em Cotia, e se colocou à disposição para fazer os reparos que forem necessários. Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva, presidente do Tricolor, esteve no encontro.

Juventus e Portuguesa também anunciaram que retiraram atletas e/ou funcionários de seus alojamentos e prometeram trabalhar para regularizar o que for necessário.

O Corinthians diz que fará reparos na casa utilizada como alojamento para os garotos da base, que fica perto do Parque São Jorge, em até dez dias. Como mostrou o Uol Esporte, o local funcionava como consultório médico e tem licença para tal, não para servir como dormitório.

A reunião contou com representantes de São Paulo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Juventus, Portuguesa e Nacional. O aumento do rigor na fiscalização foi motivado pelo incêndio no Ninho do Urubu, que matou dez adolescentes da base do Flamengo na sexta-feira passada.

Shane Watson’s chances of captaining Australia for the first time in Test cricket appear to have risen after Michael Clarke failed to train in Delhi on Wednesday. Although Clarke is still hopeful of being fit for the fourth Test, which starts at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Friday, his ongoing back problem limited his participation at the nets on Wednesday to some discussions with the coach Mickey Arthur and on-duty selector Rod Marsh while the rest of the squad trained.Clarke has struggled with back trouble for many years and exacerbated the problem during the warm-up on day four in Mohali and was clearly hampered by his injury while batting at No.6 in Australia’s second innings. Brad Haddin led Australia in the field during Clarke’s periods off the ground but with the vice-captain Watson having rejoined the squad – he batted in the nets in Delhi on Wednesday – he is the most likely man to take charge if Clarke is ruled out.However, that would create an interesting dynamic given that Watson was one of the four men who failed to complete Arthur’s so-called homework task and was left out of the Mohali Test. Watson flew out of Chandigarh the same day for the birth of his first child and when he left, he expressed his disappointment at what he felt was a “very harsh” punishment and said he would use his time at home to consider his cricket future.But over the past few days Cricket Australia has been at pains to say that Watson is now fully on-board with the plans of the team management and he has committed to Test cricket for the long term. The opener Ed Cowan, who holds no official leadership position but is a well-respected older member of the group, said the squad had no problems welcoming Watson back after the events of the past week.”There is no doubt about that. In his own words, he has probably decided to come back with full focus and we will accept him because he is such a great player and a good leader,” Cowan said on Wednesday. “He is a senior player around the group and it is important those kinds of players are on-board because we need those guys for this team to be the best team in the world. There is no doubt he is on board with the team moving forward.”Shane is more a lead by example kind of fellow in terms of how he prepares. He doesn’t leave many stones unturned in terms of preparation and the way he has performed across all formats for a long period of time, that is an example in itself. He is a very different leader to Michael but we’re hoping Michael is fine for this Test. He’s such a great batsman and we need his runs and his leadership. We’re hoping he will be fit.”Although Clarke did not train on Wednesday, the Australians remain hopeful that he will be able to play in Delhi, despite the short turnaround between matches.”It’s a condition that he’s had for a long time and he hasn’t missed a Test yet so he’s not expecting to miss this but it is a day-to-day proposition. I don’t know what the possibility or probability of him playing the Test match is but he’s confident because he’s so familiar with it and it’s something he deals with on a daily basis.”
